Hello! I just read in the News on this page that Amquip wants to go together with Maxim. If this will work we will have a real large crane rental company here in the US. Does this make sence for the market and the companies. Won't this be a too large immovable colossus. I'd like to know what other people think about this new megarental. John |

Hello John, In my opinion customers will show if they accept such a large rental company. Primary it's not decisive how large the company is. They simply have to offer a good service and equipment. The only critical thing is the fact that they could offer very low prices. But caused by the present situation I don't think that this will happen. I know that in Germany all attempts failed to create a large crane rental company by taking over other companies. The mistake they all made was to generally undercut the prices of their competitors. They thought they could generate high profits just by making very much jobs not looking at the costs. But this will never work. But time will tell what's happening to Maxim and if they go together with AmQuip. Yours Jackson Osata |

The news on this page show that AmQuip really made an offer to buy Maxim for 325 million dollars! They say that the problem was too little focus on customers and satisfaction of the employees and too much on balances. They have debts of almost 500 million dollars. I'm very anxious if this deal will work out. John |
